Corporate Synergies’ HealthDiscovery.org Blog Series Wins APEX 2019 Award

Camden, New Jersey, August 8, 2019—Corporate Synergies’ health blog, HealthDiscovery.org, has won an APEX 2019 Award for Publication Excellence, the firm’s seventh APEX Award since 2014.  The APEX Awards is an annual national competition that recognizes excellence in publication work by professional communicators.

HealthDiscovery.org’s July 2018 series, “Breast Cancer Risks, Screenings & New Treatments,” captured the APEX Award in the Social Media: Best Series of Blog Posts category. In-house writers Ellen Hosafros and Dina A. Beck and infographic designer Stephanie Eisele produced the breast cancer series. Alina Fabozzi is the monthly blog’s web designer.

HealthDiscovery.org is a lifestyle blog with themed health and wellness articles, tips, quizzes and recipes. Corporate Synergies launched HealthDiscovery.org in February 2018 as an educational resource for the firm’s clients and their employee benefits plan participants.

Beck’s “My First Mammogram,” the featured article in the breast cancer series, was the highest performing single post since the blog’s introduction in February 2018. The “What’s Your Risk of Breast Cancer?” infographic, designed by Eisele, produced a viewership of three times the average.  Hosafros wrote the articles “Rare but Aggressive: Breast Cancer in Young Women” and “A New Twist in Breast Cancer Treatment Options: Skipping the Chemo.”

“The goal of HealthDiscovery.org is to promote better awareness of important health topics and to increase overall healthcare and employee benefits consumerism,” said Beck, who is Director of Marketing for Corporate Synergies. She and Hosafros co-edit the blog. Eisele produces the majority of infographics for the website.

“We carefully research each monthly topic and include data and guidance from reputable sources,” said Hosafros, Director of Corporate Communications for Corporate Synergies. “Accuracy is important to us and our readership.”

“Our in-house writers and designers have shown leadership and innovation in the development of HealthDiscovery.org as well as our corporate blog, The Knowledge Center,” said Brian Feeley, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Corporate Synergies. “We excel at insurance journalism and we are proud of our staff members’ contributions to these important client resources. It’s great to be recognized by APEX for our efforts.”

Now in its 31st year, the APEX Awards are based on excellence in editorial content, graphic design and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence. The Grand Award, which Corporate Synergies won in 2014 for its website (corpsyn.com) honors outstanding works in each main category, while the Awards of Excellence recognize exceptional entries in each of the individual categories. The APEX Awards are sponsored by the editors of Writer’s Web Watch and published by Communications Concepts.
