Mount Laurel, New Jersey, November 7, 2014 – Hyong Jin Park, Vice President of Operations for Corporate Synergies, is a 2014 Orlando Business Journal 40 Under 40 Honoree. The resident of the Central Florida community of Avalon Park was honored at the Business Journal’s awards reception on November 6.

The 40 Under 40 program recognizes the achievements of Central Florida’s up-and-coming business professionals. Park, 38, is responsible for strategic development, enhancement of operational capabilities and executive leadership for Corporate Synergies’ Client Solutions, Benefits Administration Business Development, Employee Advocacy, and Information Technology Application Development departments.

His innate data capture and analysis expertise contributed to the success of one of his earliest and most complicated projects for Corporate Synergies, serving as the primary architect for SynergiesSELECT, the company’s private insurance exchange. Prior to joining Corporate Synergies in January 2012, Park worked for insurance giants CIGNA and UnitedHealthcare. He also helped smaller companies expand their service models and enhance their value propositions. He was named Vice President of Operations for Corporate Synergies at the age of 35.

In addition to his business accomplishments, Park has achieved many personal milestones. He is a South Korean immigrant whose family moved to the U.S. to afford their children better access to education and improve their quality of life. Park, who didn’t speak English until the age of 6, quickly became fluent in the language and helped his parents pass their citizenship examinations. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Management from the University of Connecticut, the first member of his extended family to finish college. The same year, CIGNA hired him as a Structure Specialist through its University Hire Program. While working full-time for CIGNA, he also earned two master’s degrees.

“We are very proud of Hyong Jin’s personal and business achievements,” said John Turner, President and CEO of Corporate Synergies. “His drive to succeed contributes to the ongoing success of our company and clients.”
