Aetna and Bank of America have joined forces to develop the Aetna Healthy Living (sm) Visa® credit card for Aetna’s medical, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health members. Complete with its own Rewards Program, while this card may be used for everyday purchases, the intent is for it to be used to pay for out –of-pocket medical expenses.
HOW THIS AFFECTS YOU AS AN EMPLOYER
Aetna and Bank of America unilaterally neglected to provide meaningful notice about this new program and the date by which you need to declare your employees exempt from receiving their promotional materials. If you DO NOT want your employees to receive information on this program, please contact your Corporate Synergies representative so we can help you immediately. The deadline for exclusion is April 30, 2007.

The credit card will be offered to your employees through an Aetna-sponsored direct-mail campaign.

This card is provided at no cost to you and with no administrative involvement for your staff.

Aetna manages all product marketing and Bank of America handles all application and payment processing. There is no tie to your organization, and you have no responsibility for employees paying their bills and assume no risk.

Neither Aetna nor your company has access to financial information about employees who apply for the credit card. Further, neither Aetna nor Bank of America use applicant information for any purpose other than the issuance of the Aetna Healthy Living Visa credit card
