With many people managing tight household budgets, paying “up front” for a three-month supply of prescription medication can be a challenge. In order to ease this burden, Express Scripts, Inc. (ESI), mail service pharmacy is now offering members the option to pay for their prescription orders over time through a program called Bill Me Later.
WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU AS AN EMPLOYER?
Capital BlueCross members who use the Express Scripts, Inc. (ESI), mail service pharmacy can choose to pay for their prescription orders over time through an option called Bill Me Later. ESI has always offered a variety of payment options, including check, money order, bank-issued debit cards and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover). Bill Me Later is a third-party payment option with no service charge or annual fee and “zero fraud liability” protection. Members can enjoy benefits including:
- “No Payments for 90 Days” for orders of $150 or more.
- A 25-day grace period before finance charges are assessed for orders costing less than $150.
- No interest for qualifying customers whose balance is paid in full within the promotional period.
Information about the Bill Me Later payment option is planned for inclusion in the Spring/Summer 2010 edition of Simply-Well, the Capital BlueCross member newsletter. The collateral, Guide to Prescription Drug Benefits (NF-681), will be updated immediately with Bill Me Later information.
