Horizon Security Breach

As you are already aware, there has been a data security breach that may affect your employees enrolled in Horizon healthcare plans. Recently, a Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey employee’s laptop was stolen that contained personal information, including the name, address and social security number of some of our Horizon members.

At this time, Horizon BCBSNJ has assured us that they have no reason to believe that this data has been accessed. Several security measures were employed to safeguard the data and prevent its access.

Horizon will notify each impacted employee or dependent directly by letter of this incident. Additionally, Horizon BCBSNJ has partnered with Consumerinfo.com to provide affected employees with one year of credit monitoring, at no cost. All enrollment details will be included in the letter from Horizon BCBSNJ.
