Camden, New Jersey, July 31, 2018—Corporate Synergies, a national insurance and employee benefits brokerage and consultancy, has earned a 2018 APEX Award for Publication Excellence. This is the firm’s sixth APEX Award since 2014.

APEX Awards is an annual national competition that recognizes excellence in publication work by professional communicators. The 2018 Award for Publication Excellence recognizes the Corporate Synergies Marketing and Business Development departments for a multi-contact campaign, including email, mail and telephone. Inspired by songs like Adele’s chart-topping hit, “Hello,” the campaign resulted in a 5% increase in open and response rates, leading to in-depth conversations and new business relationships.

“We pride ourselves in overcoming what is a major hurdle for many companies—getting the attention of decision-makers,” said John Turner, CEO of Corporate Synergies. “It’s great to be recognized by APEX and we are proud of the collaborative work of our Marketing and Business Development teams.”

The campaign included two postcards and corresponding emails, as well as a third mail piece with an enclosed whistle so recipients could give Corporate Synergies a “whistle” to discuss the firm’s employee benefits services. The campaign components featured lyrics from iconic songs like The Beatles’ 1965 hit, “Help.”

“Insurance isn’t the most exciting topic, and busy benefits plan sponsors can be reluctant to revisit their options for fear of added work and disruption,” said Brian Feeley, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Corporate Synergies. “We wanted to show that our services are human and experts are approachable. We think that the personality of this campaign is what resonated with our clients—and the APEX judges.”

Now in its 30th year, APEX Awards are based on excellence in editorial content, graphic design and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence. The Grand Award, which Corporate Synergies won in 2014 for its website (corpsyn.com) honors outstanding works in each main category, while the Awards of Excellence recognize exceptional entries in each of the individual categories. The APEX Awards are sponsored by the editors of Writer’s Web Watch and published by Communications Concepts.
